“Don’t get involved with anyone you have to kill” — great advice from Marisa Wegrzyn’s Killing Women, a dark comedy about an assassination organization’s female employees: cold-blooded Abby (Annie Erickson), tutored flighty Lucy (Nicole Blicher), who complicates matters by seducing her targets. Now Abby recruits single mom Gwen (Miriam White), who must either join the club or be eliminated. Director Bill Felty could emphasize both the dark and the comedy more; only Chris Fluck’s creepy childlike killer really achieves the play’s noir style. But Killing Women is still nasty good fun. |
